I’m not dead yet

(This whole post is typed on my phone and unedited, it’s going to be a train wreck as I’m dysgraphic and have mangled hands. Usually Mac proof reads and edits for me. It is what it is. -Christina)

oh wow, you go on vacation and it takes weeks to recover from it. Just in time for another trip. I owe you three recipes but today all I have for you is this lovely picture of my current location, Leavenworth Washington.
Picture
Leavenworth is one of those quaint American towns nestled away in the mountains that decided to pretend its German. Back home in California (yes, I’m a transplanted Californian. I married into Washington) we have Solvang which I decided is actually just Rohan. I have no idea how many of these little Alpine American towns are out there but I think it’s probably an interesting commentary on American society.

ANY HOW

The weather is surprisingly nice for Washington in April and it’s early enough that the streets aren’t swarming with (other) tourists. We’re at an elevation of 1,171 feet so the immediately surrounding peaks still have snow and the whole town smells like a Christmas tree farm/bratwurst festival. All in all it’s not a bad start to the day.

Our first stop in town was the local game/comic shop called Krampus Kave. (Yes, Leavenworth is also very Christmas oriented and is probably amazing in winter).
The store itself IS very cave like but not in a bad way. It’s your typical shop, much better situated then I expected for a small “Bavarian” town and the guys behind the desk where friendly and attentive with out being overbearing or seeming like we were interrupting some secret ritual.

You know what I’m talking about.

They also have a nice selection and decent variety for slamming comics, board games, RPG’s AND Funko into a small subterranean space. I FINALLY got to actually look at the Overlight book. Maybe someday I’ll get to play it.

alright, While I’m shopping I grabbed a couple of stickers for my Tome.

also I’m not sure what’s going on but people keep stopping and staring like they know me. It’s starting to feel a little weird. I’ve got 20 minutes till I meet back up with Mac, so I think I’m going to lay down in the grass here and enjoy the nice day.

I know this post wasn’t particularly gaming oriented but I think it’s important to get out and enjoy the real world as well (She says in a fake Alpine village). Get outside, sit in some grass and just watch the world around you, it’s amazing the stories you’ll see.

I’ll try to get a picture of the Sasquatch in Lederhosen before we leave...
